Best Towers & Upgrade Paths

Gold efficiency wins campaigns. Instead of spreading Tier-1 towers thin, push a few key paths to Tier-3 and Tier-4. Below are paths that consistently overperform across titles, plus build orders for common map archetypes.

Core Picks by Role

  • Anti-Armor: Mage → high single-target burst, add armor break when available.
  • AoE Clear: Artillery → best on clustered paths; pair with slows or chokeholds.
  • Anti-Air: Archer multi-shot paths and targeted hero support.
  • Stall/Control: Militia upgrades with stun, or tower paths that add ground control.

Gold-Efficient Build Orders

  1. Open with stall + burst: 1 militia, 1 mage, hero on the choke.
  2. Rush Tier-3 on the burst tower before adding more Tier-1s.
  3. Add AoE once wave density increases; place artillery where paths overlap.
  4. Finish with utility (slow, armor shred) and an anti-air backstop.

Layouts by Map Type

  • Two-Lane Converge: artillery at the join, mage behind, hero rotates to leaks.
  • Long Single Path: stagger damage—stall into mage, then archer AA further down.
  • Open Field: create an artificial choke with militia + slow, artillery in center.
