Alliance TD — Starter Tips, Builds & Progression 2025
Updated: 16 Aug 2025
This page targets players starting Alliance TD. We focus on safe early routes, spending priorities, and synergy concepts so you don’t waste currency.
Early Progression Path
- Secure one choke with barracks + splash (artillery) before touching side lanes.
- Rush first power spike (your best T3) instead of spreading upgrades thin.
- Bank for utility—get your first reliable CC (stun/root) by the time elites appear.
Strong Starter Builds
- Archers → Rangers for poison ticks; pair with artillery to capitalize on clumps.
- Barracks → Assassins at offlane; smoke bomb buys precious seconds for AoE.
- Mage → Necromancer when waves sustain; skeletons act as free blockers.
Heroes & Synergy
Pick a hero that complements your lane weakness: bruiser for thin frontline, burst mage for swarm control, or ranged support for split lanes. Rotate the hero between lanes during downtime.
Spending & Monetization Notes
- Prioritize persistent upgrades (cooldowns, tower damage) over cosmetics.
- Time-gated currencies: do daily missions even if you don’t grind campaign; the opportunity cost compounds.
- Beware “new tower” bait—learn maps with core kit first; new toys don’t fix fundamentals.
Common Pitfalls
- Over-defending dead lanes while the boss lane overwhelms you.
- Ignoring rally micro—move flags early to start stalls sooner.
- Blowing ultimates on drips; save for elite clusters or boss add phases.
